Denise initially disclosed her father’s hospitalization on Loose Women, explaining: “Just wanted to say I miss my dad who is in Newcastle hospital. He can’t comprehend, so it’s been difficult. After spending her father’s 63rd birthday in the hospital due to complications after surgery, Denise Welch described it as “bittersweet.”

Saturday, the anniversary of her mother Annie’s passing, was a day spent with her dad Vin, she said through Instagram. Following her emotional appearance on Loose Women, Denise’s father had gallbladder removal surgery, but there were some complications. A somber Denise said: “So, I’m 63 now. In spite of everything, I am stronger than I have been in years.” Denise went on: “This is the longest period of time without a severe depressive episode in 32 years.

“To be honest, I’m simply thankful for any reason.”

My mother Annie passed away on May 22nd, so today is a sad anniversary.

But Denise, 63, got good news regarding her father on Tuesday.

Then Denise posted a video of herself, FaceTiming Vin, during a Loose Women commercial break “You show dad you care. But he’s growing better every day, thanks to good treatment.”

“Hope your Dad is feeling better,” one of her fans said, while another added, “Sending love and hugs.”

In her absence, I wish she had lived to witness how my sobriety has transformed me and those around me.

Denise just visited her father in the North East. On the banks of the Tyne with the Tyne Bridge as a backdrop, she posted on Instagram: “Toon!!! No place like home!!”

When Denise and her father met for the first time in months following the first national lockdown, they warmed many people’s hearts by dancing and singing along to You To Me Are Everything.
