Linda Tripp Cause Of Death:- Linda Tripp, the federal staffer who surreptitiously taped Monica Lewinsky discussing her romance with President Clinton in the late 1990s, died aged 70. The first episode of Impeachment: American Crime Story isn’t about Beanie Feldstein’s Monica Lewinsky and Clive Owen’s Bill Clinton. Instead, the series begins with Sarah Paulson’s Linda Tripp, an American government servant who is demoted a year into Clinton’s presidency.

So why is she so important? In brief, Linda Tripp exposed President Clinton’s romance with White House staffer Monica Lewinsky. Deliberately taping her talks with Lewinsky, she is an ethically dubious character. Here are some facts about Tripp.

Former attorney Joseph Murtha confirmed Tripp’s death Wednesday. Her cause of death was unknown, although press sources suggested she had pancreatic cancer.

Tripp began working in the White House under George H.W. Bush’s Republican presidency and lasted through the Clinton administration.

Tripp and Lewinsky met in the Pentagon. As a result of their connection, Lewinsky started telling Tripp about her sexual relationship with the president. Tripp told a conservative book agent, Lucianne Goldberg, who recommended she tape her phone calls with Lewinsky.

But recording someone without their consent is unlawful, and Tripp handed the recordings over to special prosecutor Ken Starr, who was investigating Clinton. In exchange, Tripp was exonerated.

Starr’s probe centered on the recordings. They refuted Clinton and Lewinsky’s denials of an affair. “I did not have sexual contact with that lady, Monica Lewinsky,” Clinton said in a White House press conference. On the tapes, Lewinsky discussed the affair while arguing with Tripp that what she and Clinton were doing was not sex.

In the tapes, Tripp is heard offering Lewinsky instructions on how to approach the president and what to say, and even encouraging her to preserve a blue garment she said was contaminated with Clinton’s DNA.

Lewinsky sent well wishes to an old friend who subsequently said she deceived the younger lady to protect her and would do it again.
